Window tinting in Calgary
Window film does three things: it cuts the heat that builds up in a parked car, it blocks most of the UV that fades interiors, and it adds privacy. On a Calgary vehicle it also reduces glare from low winter sun on east–west commutes along Glenmore, 16 Avenue and Deerfoot.
Film types we discuss with customers:
- Dyed film — the least expensive, fades and can turn purple over time.
- Carbon film — better heat rejection than dyed, non-reflective, longer life.
- Ceramic film — the best heat rejection for its shade, blocks the most UV, and does not interfere with phone or GPS signals.

Alberta window tint law: what is legal
Alberta does not set a tint percentage for the front glass. Under the Vehicle Equipment Regulation (Alberta Regulation 122/2009), section 70(1) prohibits installing, replacing or covering the windshield or the side windows beside or forward of the driver with a transparent, translucent or opaque material. In practice that means no aftermarket film of any shade on the windshield or the front driver and passenger windows — including clear film.
Behind the driver there is no darkness limit. Rear side windows and the rear window can be tinted to any shade, provided the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides (section 70(2)). Reflective or mirrored film that throws glare into other drivers' eyes is not permitted on any window.
A medical exemption exists, but it must be approved by the Government of Alberta before film is installed, and it allows only clear UV film at a combined visible light transmittance of 50% or more.
What this means for your booking: we tint the rear side windows and rear glass to whatever shade you want, and we will explain the front-glass rules before you commit. [CONFIRM: the shop's stated policy on front-window requests and medical exemptions.]

Section — vehicle wraps
Vehicle wraps in Calgary
A vinyl wrap changes the colour or finish of your vehicle without repainting it, and it protects the paint underneath while it is on. We quote two broad categories:
Colour change wraps
A new colour or finish (gloss, satin, matte, chrome effect) across the body panels.
Commercial and fleet wraps
Branding, logos and contact details for businesses, from a partial door-and-panel wrap to a full vehicle.
[CONFIRM: wrap brands, finishes offered, expected lifespan, removal policy and warranty. None of this is on the flyer, so none of it is stated here.]
Why prep matters: a wrap is only as good as the surface under it. Swirl marks, stone chips and oxidation get sealed in, which is why paint polishing before a wrap is common. Paint Polishing
Section — quote factors
Why tint and wraps are quoted per vehicle
Two vehicles of the same model can need very different amounts of film or vinyl. The quote depends on:
- Glass area and the number of windows, for tint.
- Body panel count, curves and trim removal, for wraps.
- The film or vinyl selected — ceramic film and premium cast vinyl cost more than entry-level materials.
- Prep required — old film removal, paint correction, rust or damage repair.
That is why we do not publish a single price. Send us your vehicle details and a few photos and we will quote it properly.

Frequently asked questions
Window tint is quoted per vehicle because glass area, film type and prep vary. Send us your vehicle details and we will give you a price.
No. Alberta's Vehicle Equipment Regulation prohibits aftermarket film on the windshield and the front driver and passenger windows, including clear film. Rear side windows and the rear window can be tinted to any shade if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides.
Alberta does not set a VLT percentage for front glass — it bans film on the windshield and front side windows outright. There is no darkness limit behind the driver.
Ceramic film rejects more heat for the same shade and blocks more UV than dyed film, and it does not fade or turn purple the way dyed film can.
It depends on the vehicle size, the panels covered, the vinyl selected and the prep required. We quote each vehicle individually.
[CONFIRM: expected lifespan for the vinyl the shop installs.]
[CONFIRM — the flyer states cars, trucks and motorcycles, but wrap capability for motorcycles should be confirmed before publishing.]
